Knives For Cake and Bread

I am very intrigued when I see a chef cutting his/her cake using a sharp knife. The result is very clean and neat. No Crumb fall.

One day, I bought Japan made in knives. Although, they are not the most expensive knives but they are already sharp enough for me. Too bad, one knife is pretty easily rustic if I don’t wipe until really really dry after cleaning it.

I bought those Japan knives first because I want to cut my Japanese Cheesecake clean and neatly. Yet, sometimes I use the most left and most right knives for cooking, too. Very sharp when I cut meat. I must focus so I won’t cut my own finger. 😅

Actually, there are 2 bread knives, too. (Picture coming soon). One knife is super sharp, just touching the edge a bit, can make my finger bleeding. Not once I made that mistake. That was my first experience with that kind of knife. The cut result is also clean, neat, and no crumble. The bread slices always look beautiful when cut with this knife. It’s Italian made. The other knife is not too dangerous but I’m very cautious because I have experienced finger bleeding more than one with the previous knife. The second knife also make the cut clean, neat and no crumble. Yet, somehow, in detail, cutting with the first knife is more clean and neater. Yet, it’s really intended for bread. When I tried to use it to cut a Japanese cheesecake, it was a mess. 😅.

The bread knife can be used to cut cake like chiffon, sponge cake, and butter cake. Yet, to cut cake like Opera or Japanese cheesecake (and any cheesecake) , I prefer the cake knife. I usually use the middle and most right ones.

I wonder if out there, there is also at least one person who is like me.  Buying knife just to cut cake and bread clean and neat, no crumble. I think, I’m a bit too far spending my money on just cake and bread knives. I don’t know but knife usually the least thing I want to buy, especially good quality one (simply, because it’s expensive). All my knife were just regular knife until I watched chefs on youtube channels.😅😅. If I don’t hold myself, I might have total 4-5 (cake) knives.😂
